Busy Weekend

Mark was suppose to go fishing but there was a high wind warning. Seeing as we had booked a motel and rented a car we decides to do some island hoping. Got up early Saturday and caught the ferry to Stradbroke Island - called Stradie by the locals. For some reason the Aussies love to shorten words and stick "ie" on the end. It was really windy but the views from the Gorge Hike were fantastic.
On Sunday we took the rental car over for a drive to Bribie Island. We walked along the wetlands and we had the entire spot to ourselves. Australia has some interesting bugs and plants, unfortunately it's more difficult to capture the birds with a camera.
All this nature stuff was terrific but we needed a city break Sunday night and we just happened to have tickets to see Jersey Boys. If you ever get the chance to see it go! Even with Australian actors putting on Jersey accents it was fabulous!

What a shame to have beautiful beaches like these with no one else there. It's wonderful that you can explore so many new places.
I am in Toronto now, visiting little Lucien, Karen and Louis. Lucien is 5 weeks old now, over 7 lb. cute as a button. Just can't love him enough. I am sure you know what I mean.
When will you be back to the US? Miss you and Mark.

More beautiful places to see...it's so great you're getting to explore your surroundings a bit. Great photos with your new camera! I love the one of the neat coloured bug. Miss you. When are you planning on leaving your apartment? Are you still planning on travelling a bit before heading home? :)

Oh, that's fabulous you got to see the Jersey Boys...I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's here in Calgary now but I decided not to go since, I saw Johnny Reid (with Bill) and Il Divo (with Karen) this month already. Karen & I already said the next time it comes to Calgary, we're going! :)
