Victoria Day has always supplied us with the first long weekend of "summer" and it is a break to which every red blooded Canadian looks forward. Scott and Tiffany decided to spend their weekend in California with us. I'm not sure it's because they love and miss us, or that they had just survived a huge snow storm and needed to get someplace warm fast. I'll go with the first reason, because it makes me feel all fuzzy. It was a darn good thing they were looking for heat because it was fire breathing, fry an egg on the sidewalk hot.
We spent our time together doing our favorite Orange County activities. Even in California we have been able to develop certain traditions. A trip to the ball park, a huge meal of shrimp and fish in San Pedro and shopping downtown Huntington Beach. This visit we added the tradition of walking on the dog beach. Okay, that sounds weird. But there is a beach where dogs are allowed run free and chase sticks thrown into the ocean by their well meaning owners. I haven't seen a dog drown there yet but sometimes the waves come crashing over them and the come out of the surf, well looking like wet dogs! The real advantages to walking on the dog beach are that the owners always pick up after their dogs (not true on the sidewalks around here) and there are no seagulls. I have a strong dislike, one might even say fear, of birds - which I have passed on to Scott.
One day I will learn to put my pictures into my blog as I write (Karen, Louis and Evelyn have mastered this technique) but for now I'll just stick them in and they will decide where they want to be placed. It's like the pictures have a mind of their own! Like right now they just popped in at the top and I can't for the life of me figure out how to move them.
My next post shall be titled "Should Mark and Bonnie sink a whole ton of cash into a condo in California?" Don't even bother reading that one unless you plan on giving sage advice.

It's about time for a new blog! I am getting a little bit tired of looking at that yeelow jeep. You all look fabulous under the beautiful Californian sun. A huge meal of shrimp and fish in San Pedro, mmmmm, that's a good tradition to get into. I can see someone is showing off her digital scrapbooking technique. Well done! Looks just like a scrapbook page.
Have you got your green card already? I don't have any sage advice for you, but you should see the no. of booths set up at the Home & Garden Show in Edmonton selling houses in the US. I heard there are real bargains in the market. Go for it if you are planning to stay there any way. Hotel California will be renamed Resort condo in California. Time to make reservation!
love

I agree with Stella about the yellow car!! Looks like the kids had a great time. One thing about visiting, I HATE BASEBALL!!!!! We will up date me blog with a quick overview of Cuba. $$$ in a condo huh? Wouldn't a timeshare work better, although I hear those can be a bugger to get rid of. I know absolutely nothing about real estate anywhere so I really have no educated opinion!!
Nice layouts!
I have no real estate advice, but I can tell you about how we do our photos. Blogger always loads them to the top of the text box. So I just cut them out (left-click your mouse or highlight and Ctrl+X). Then I paste them wherever I want them in the text (left-click your mouse or highlight and Ctrl+V).
Hope this helps!
We were just going to Michael's, but the battery is dead in the car?? Glad you had a nice Victoria Day with the kids, wish I was there, the weather here is the pits!! Property in California? What about the next earthquake they say is about to come??? I know you don't want my comments,it is your money, but how will you get it out of Canada? Mom
Love the blog and sure miss that lunch at San Pedro. Had dinner with Scot and Tiffany at the Barnden's last Tue. and of course it was an usual feast. They looked well rested and adjusted to new post-California blood alcohol levels. Thank you for the DVD in advance, we will get it from Scot soon. Tell us more about the real estate market in California. It will be interesting. Take care.
so happy to see the pics up. of course we had a blast, though much too short :) and scott keeps craving that giant bucket of ceviche! can't wait for christmas, miss you both.
Love Scott and Tiff
